Every time Suse comes with a new version of its operating system we must carefully have a look on how they handle raw devices resp. logical volumes. This week i  upgraded from Suse 11.4 to Suse 12.1, IDS remains unchanged on version 11.70. There is no substantial change in handling raw-devices by Suse 12.1, but it is very important to use the correct udev-file. otherwise you can get a surprise - may be that mouse and keyboard does not work....

Good news for all Open Source fans: SugarCRM is now able to utilize Informix as database backend:

In January there will be two Informix Chat with the Lab events. The first one is a repetition of an event from October 2011. The event discusses the advantages of Informix as backend for business software in conjunction with Genero.

Two notes to IBM:

Is there no other software vendor left that bets on Informix and is willing to talk about it ?

2)
Informix voted#1 in customer satisfaction is now about 3 years ago. VendorRate - the company that created the opinion poll - seems to have gone, at least the website doesn't exist aynmore for about 2 years or so. But IBM

Auch in 2012 bietet die IBM wieder kostenlose Workshops rund um das Thema INFORMIX an. Den Anfang macht die Banken-Metropole Frankfurt wo gleich drei Informix-Workshops im Monat März stattfinden.
