On March the 24th there will be an important Pre-Announcement webcast for IBM Business Partners. In this webcast IBM will announce a new product that has the potential to change the game for Informix. If you haven't already read the newest IBM Informix Business Partner Newsletter I encourage you to do so. database managing, monitoring, tuning, and modelling needs as well as the 
tools you use to perform these activities. 

We are collecting your feedback through an informal survey which should take 
less than 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help guide our Informix 
database development and management tools strategy. Let your voice be heard 

IBM has published a new Redbook titled Embedding IBM Informix.

The Redbook is a major rewrite of the first version called "Embedding IDS - An Introduction". The Redbooks covers
new functionality added in Informix 11.70 and 11.50.xC7 like:

• Storage Provisioning
• Online Defragmentation
• New Database Scheduler Procedures
• Deployment Assistant and Deployment Utility
• Compression

It is good to see that Informix plays such a crucial role for Cisco's business. Actually Cisco is one of the few big players that identified the potential of the Informix technology. There is no other database from IBM or the competition that delivers such an excellent performance, reliability and versatility paired with exceptional low administration costs like Informix.
