Motivated by Markus Holzbauer's sysadmin tasks I took database size script (for IDS >= v10) previously posted here by Eric in his "SMI Query Series" and wrote a simple sensor script, here it is:

Informix on Ubuntu
Here is some additional information about Informix@Ubuntu that I received from Andreas Breitfeld and Alexander Koerner from IBM Munich regarding the Informix Ubuntu packages:
The packages have been build for Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Long Term Support) and are availabe on the Canoncial Partner repository. The installation could be performed from the command line or through the Synaptic GUI interface.
Command Line:
Activate the Canoncial repository by uncommenting the following to lines in /etc/apt/sources.list:
- deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu hardy partner

IDS Packages for Ubuntu Linux

About 8 months ago I switched from Suse Linux to Ubuntu on my notebook and wasn't able to find official IBM Informix packages for that platform.
Good news to all Ubuntu fans ! IBM has now officially released several Informix packages including Informix Dynamic Server (Developer Edition), Open Admin Tool, Client Software Developer Kit, PHP Data Objects.
