New: IDS Resource Agent for Linux-HA Clustering
New: IDS Resource Agent for Linux-HA Clustering
In order to extend the High-Availability (HA) portfolio of IDS, Lars Daniel Forseth, a student of Applied Computer Science at IBM Germany, implemented the IDS Resource Agent for the Open Source Cluster software Linux-HA (aka Heartbeat, http://www.linux-ha.org) in the scope of his diploma thesis.
This IDS Resource Agent enables an HA cluster running on Linux-HA to manage an IDS database server instance as a cluster resource.
The source code is already committed to the official Linux-HA development repository and can be found at:
http://hg.linux-ha.org/dev/file/tip/resources/OCF/ids
The IDS Resource Agent will be an integral part of Linux-HA in the coming release which is yet to be announced.
More detailed information on the IDS Resource Agent for Linux-HA and how to use it is found in the following two documents:
The IDS Team would appreciate you testing it and providing us with feedback! :)
Please provide any questions or feedback to the IDS forum hosted at IIUG:

A special thank you goes to Martin Fuerderer (IDS Development, IBM Munich) and Lars Daniel Forseth (student of Applied Computer Science at IBM Germany) for providing this information to The Informix Zone.
