IBM Database Magazine - Informix Content
New content arrived at the IBM Database Magazine website.
You might have already heard that The Informix Zone received the IBM Data Champion award. There is an article from Scott Bisang titled IBM Lauds its Data Champions that describes the award and mentions The Informix Zone. Unfortunately the award itself - which has already been shipped by IBM - hasn't been delivered by the carrier as of today. As soon as I receive it, I'll share a few photos here.
There is also a report about my friend Gary Ben-Israel - IIUG Director and Editor of the IIUG Insider - titled Dream Job: Time Tests. The report describes the work of Gary at Israel's National Institute for Testing and Evaluation (NITE) as well as his long-time Informix history:
Gary Ben-Israel:
"When I started, it was still a bunch of FORTRAN programs and a plain file system. Today, we are developing in Java, and we have Informix Dynamic Server 11.5, the finest database in the world"
Registration for the IIUG 2009 Conference is now open and Mr. President (Stuart Litel) shares his view on it:
Stuart Litel:
"We anticipate that the 2009 conference will have at least four tracks over three full days for a total of more than 60 Informix sessions."
