Update: Questions from the Informix Community to IBM's Sales and Marketing VP's
Just to keep you informed:
Today I've officially send the marketing/sales question list to IBM's Worldwide VP of Database Sales Alyse Passarelli and IBM's Wordwide VP of Database Marketing Inhi Cho. We will soon see if they take the complaints of the Informix user community seriously and answer our questions in some form.
The results of the last poll clearly show that the Informix community expect more serious actions from IBM to create IDS product awareness in the market. Now that Oracle probably owns SUN (and MySQL), it is even more important that IBM takes care that their own database products are well known in the market.
IDS is a very smart product with an excellent development and support team behind it. There is a zealous Informix community consisting of distributors, ISV's, partners and customers that inexhaustibly praises the product. Now it is time for IBM to polish the jewel and present it's smartness to the market. However publishing two or three press releases a year is not enough to make this happen.
IBM, act now, it is your turn !
