New Informix Demos
There are new Informix demos out that demonstrate the benefits of IDS in two of the Informix "sweet spot" industries: Telecommunication and Retail. You probably know that there are several large retailers in the US that power their business with IDS. Hundreds and thousands of IDS instances are managed only by a handful of DBA's. There is no other data server offered by IBM or the competition that achieves a better TCO than IDS.
But also in the emerging markets, IDS is succeeding. For example there are several large telecommunication companies as well as banks in China that bet their business on the reliability and high availability of IBM Informix Dynamic Server. BTW, IDS is IBM's Information Management top selling product in China.
IBM's message is clear: If you need real high availability and scalability that goes beyond a single standby database, IBM Informix Dynamic Server is clearly the best choice to serve your critical business needs !
Please read also the new interview with Kevin Brown - Lead Architect for IBM Informix - published today in the Informix Voices blog. Kevin speaks about the dominant role of IDS especially in the telecommunication area.
Madison Pruet - IBM Informix Replication Architect - published an interesting article about HDR Performance considerations.
